This definition is accurate and definitely Shirley’s cup of tea!
Shirley always has at least one project on the go, keeping herself busy and achieving positive outcomes. Her mind is full of creativity and she loves problem solving. While striving to enhance her personal development skills she in turn contributes something really valuable for her community; she enjoys giving her time to supporting community events, activities and creative design projects.

Shirley is passionate about community advocacy and sees it as an opportunity to break down barriers and raise awareness about issues facing the Deaf community today.Â
Shirley believes that access to information is vital, and often opens up the conversation for the Deaf community to participate in.Â

Shirley is enjoying following politics because of her voluntary experiences with WFYDS and human rights issues. She is collaborating with community members to create resourceful information sharing in all social media.

Auslan MEDIA ACCESS (AMA)
Progress status: the project has been stopped due to incapacity to proceed.
Auslan Media Access was established in January 2020. This group aims to raise awareness about the importance of accessibility in government press conferences.

DEAF COMMUNITY AUSTRALIA FORUM (DCAF)
