NWDP 2023: Diversity

I enjoyed the Deaf Australia webinar as it aligned with today’s theme, ‘Building Capacity Across the Globe.’ The webinar was presented by Khishkok Abdo, who shared her life experiences as a deaf refugee in Australia. Her stories were inspiring, and I witnessed her growth, particularly her participation in a recent WFDYS youth camp in Korea.

My parents immigrated from China in search of a new life years before I was born. I consider myself fortunate to live in this great country. I wholeheartedly embrace the diversity of people from various cultures and language backgrounds. I am committed to seeing others support each other in their endeavors, projects, and the exchange of information, not only locally but globally. I also advocate for embracing differences, adapting to new opportunities, and exploring possibilities.

It’s never too late to sow the seeds for a brighter future.
