Today’s theme is Sustainable Deaf Leadership.
It is incredibly important to recognise deaf people involved in varying leadership roles in different areas, not only politics but also the arts, sports, business, community or volunteering.
We, as a community also need to consider how we can give deaf people that would like to give leadership a go the opportunity to develop skills. This is how we can make sure that Deaf leadership is sustainable.
While leadership is important, the focus cannot be solely on leadership but also on our surrounds, the environment, people, the wider society or economics. Having an understanding of the issues that face the world leads to more effective problem-solving and stronger leadership.
